Box Score

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman goalkeeper Hayley Zisk (Baldwinville, Mass.) made 10 saves in her debut for the Blazers, but Sheeva Seyfi (Irvine, Calif.) connected for what would be the eventual game-winner early in the first half as the Brewers collected a 3-0 victory in Saturday afternoon's non-conference women's soccer game at Leary Field.

With the loss, Elms falls to 1-4 on the season, while Vassar improves to 5-2 overall.

Vassar pressured Elms early in the first period before Seyfi controlled a through ball from Carolyn Demougeot (Potomac, Md.) and punched it into the left side of the net to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead 17:05 into the game.

Vassar took 15 shots in the opening stanza but Zisk held the Brewers at bay, notching six of her 10 saves in the opening 45 minutes.

Thirteen minutes into the second stanza, Elysa Greenberger (San Clemente, Calif.) put Vassar up two when she placed the ball in the top right corner of the net from approximately 20-yards out on a direct kick attempt.

The Brewers added their final tally when Lauren Bell (Belvedere, Calif.) intercepted an Elms pass and blasted a shot into the top right corner of the net to set the score at 3-0.

The Blazers were limited to just four shots with two on goal including one apiece from junior forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) and freshman midfielder Gianna Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.).

Seyfi finished with three shots on goal for Vassar, while Greenberger, Bell and Olivia Hunter (Oak Hill, Va.) added two each.

Elms returns to non-conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 22 when it travels to Northampton, Mass. for a 4:30 p.m. tilt against Smith College.
