NECC Championship Tournament Pairings Announced

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The pairings for the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer and women's volleyball championship tournaments were announced by the league office on Sunday.

The Elms College women's soccer team finished the regular season on a six-game winning streak, an 8-9 overall record and a 6-2 mark in league play to garner the third seed in this season's postseason tournament. The Blazers will host sixth seeded Becker College on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Leary Field.

Quarterfinals • Tuesday, November 2
No. 6 Becker (5-13-0, 3-5-0 NECC) at No. 3 Elms (8-9-0, 6-2-0 NECC),  7:00 p.m.
No. 5 Newbury (6-9-2, 4-3-1 NECC) at No. 4 Daniel Webster (5-8-3, 4-3-1 NECC), 2:00 p.m.

Semifinals • Thursday, November 4
No. 1 Lesley (11-5-2, 7-0-1 NECC) vs. winner of No. 4/No. 5, 8:00 p.m. (at Lesley)
No. 2 Mitchell (8-7-1, 6-1-1 NECC) vs. winner of No. 3/No. 6, 2:00 p.m. (at Mitchell)

Championship Match • Saturday, November 6
Semifinal Winners, 1:00 p.m. (at higher seed)

The Blazers' volleyball squad closed out its regular season campaign with a split on Oct. 30 to earn the fifth seed in the women's volleyball postseason tournament. Elms (7-19 overall, 3-4 in NECC play) will travel to No. 4 Newbury College (10-16, 4-3 in the league) on Tuesday, Nov. 2. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
