Men's Golf Finishes 17th at NEIGA DIII Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team finished 17th overall on the team leaderboard in their final action of the fall at the 81st annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Division III Championship at the Captain's Course Monday afternoon.

The Blazers carded a two-day total of 650 (332-318), improving by 14 strokes in the final round of play. Senior Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.; 83-76) and sophomore Brian Cowles (Easthampton, Mass.; 79-80) claimed a share of 34th overall, firing a 159 in 36 holes. Sophomore Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) finished tied at 63rd with a 165 (86-79), while freshman Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) was two strokes back at 75th with a 167 (84-83). Senior Brian Benson checked in at 81st with a 170 (86-84) to round out the Blazers golfers.

The tournament was the Blazers final action of the season until returning to the links for their spring schedule.
