Men's Golf 15th at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team finished 15th overall on the team leaderboard after the final round of play at the 2015 Williams Invitational, hosted by Williams at Taconic Golf Club Sunday afternoon.

The Blazers posted a team score of 650 (325-325) in two rounds of action. Sophomore Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) carded a team-low 154 (75-79) to claim a share of 21st. Senior Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) finished in a tie at 51st with a 160 (78-82), while sophomore Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) was five strokes back at 71st with a 165 (84-81). Senior Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) shot a 175 (92-83) for a share of 86th, and freshman Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) came in 92nd with a 188 (88-100).

Trinity College won the event with a score of 601. Host Williams College was four strokes back in second with a 605, followed by Western New England at third with a 612, Skidmore College in fourth with a 613, and Williams 'B' team rounded out the top 5 with 614. New York University took sixth with a 616, trailed by Salem State (619), Manhattanville (622), Hamilton (623), Amherst (625), Rhode Island College (628), Middlebury (630), Tufts (632), St. Lawrence (634), Elms, Johnson & Wales (655), Williams 'C' (656), Wesleyan (671), MCLA (762), and Springfield College (787).

The Blazers will be back on the course at the Middlebury Invitational in Middlebury, Vermont next weekend.
