Box Score

NASHUA, N.H. – Elms College sophomore net minder Alexandra Bonavita (Agawam, Mass.) turned away 16 shots, but five first half scores by Daniel Webster College including three from Courtney Brennan (Beverly, Mass.) lifted the Eagles to a 7-0 victory over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) field hockey game at Harvey Woods Field.

With the loss, Elms moves to 0-15 on the season, 0-7 in league play, while Daniel Webster improves to 9-3 overall, and remains undefeated in the NECC at 6-0.

Daniel Webster built a quick 3-0 lead in the first eight minutes of action as Brennan, Natalie Bates (North Kingstown, R.I.) and Sierra Ackerman (Soldotna, Alaska) each tallied goals to ignite the scoring for the Eagles.

Brennan netted her second goal of the contest at the 17:58 mark and earned a hat trick in the 32nd minute of play on a pass from Ackerman to give Daniel Webster a 5-0 lead at intermission.

Seven minutes into the second stanza, Bates found teammate Samantha Bark (Belfast, Maine) who delivered a scoring strike to give the Eagles a 6-0 lead. Bates and Bark connected again at the 53:08 mark to extend Daniel Webster's lead to 7-0.

Bonavita finished with nine of her 16 saves in the second half while Eagles' goalkeepers Amy Prince (Hope Valley, R.I.) and Teresa Moscati (Buffalo, N.Y.) split action in net to preserve the shutout.

Bates registered a goal and three assists in the winning effort and totaled four shots on target behind Brennan's seven shots on goal.

Elms returns to NECC action on Tuesday, Oct. 26 when it travels to Longmeadow, Mass. to take on rival Bay Path College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
