CAMBRIDGE, MA – Elms College freshman
goalkeeper Molly Corse (Bernardston, MA) turned
away six shots, but Lesley University received a pair of scores
from Jodi Fralick (Woburn, MA) to help lift the
Lynx to a 3-0 win over the Blazers in Sunday afternoon’s New
England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women’s soccer opener
for both squads.
With the loss, Elms moves to 2-5 overall, 0-1 in conference play,
while Lesley improves to 6-2-1 on the season and 1-0 in league
action.
Fralick scored the first and last goals of the game for Lesley,
scoring in the 29th minute and then again at the 59:48 mark to
highlight the victory. On the final score, Fralick hooked up with
her sister Jenna Fralick (Woburn, MA) as Jodi
controlled the ball, dribbled through two defenders and placed the
ball in the lower left corner of the net.
Lesley blasted 23 shots against the Blazers while Elms managed only
six shots in the loss.
The Blazers return to the field on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when they
travel to Southern Vermont for a NECC contest. The game is
scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
