WORCESTER, MA – Elms College sophomore
forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, MA) netted a
goal, but Clark used a pair of scores by Kerri Moy (Newton,
MA) to help lift the Cougars to a 3-1 victory over the
Blazers in Saturday afternoon’s non-conference women’s
soccer match.
With the loss, Elms College falls to 0-3 overall, while Clark
improves to 2-2 on the season.
The Cougars used 14 shots to pace its first half offensive attack,
and used a goal by Erin Peete (Clinton, MA) on a
feed from Megan O’Rourke (Somerset, MA) in
the 14th minute, as well as Moy’s first score at 25:30, to
lift Clark to a 2-0 lead.
Moy then notched her second goal of the contest just nine minutes
into the second half to give the Cougars a 3-0 advantage.
Elms College did not register a shot in the first period, but
received a second half blast from junior defender Stephanie
Magalhaes (Granby, MA), in addition to Killion’s
score which came at the 73:27 mark.
Clark received a solid 65-minute effort from keeper Joanne
Clark (Windham, ME) before backup Kelli Barile
(Lynn, MA) entered and finished the contest allowing the
one goal.
Elms College freshman goalkeeper Molly Corse (Bernardston,
MA) turned away nine shots in the losing effort.
The Blazers close out their four-game road swing when they travel
to Westfield State for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
