Parks Named to D3Hoops.com Women's All-Northeast Region Team
CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College sophomore forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named to the D3Hoops.com All-Northeast Region Team for women's basketball as recently announced by the organization.
Parks, who was named to the Northeast Region fourth team, was one of only three sophomores to earn D3Hoops post season honors joining a field that also included 17 seniors. Parks and Daniel Webster College's senior Vanessa Bosques (Windham, Conn.) were the lone New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) representatives.
Parks is the first Blazers' basketball player – men or women – to be selected to a D3Hoops.com all-region team. For the second straight season, Parks was named First Team All-NECC. Parks averaged 27.6 points per game and 12.7 rebounds per game during league action this season helping Elms capture the second seed in postseason play and reach its second consecutive NECC Tournament title game. In just her second season of action at the collegiate level, Parks reached the 1,000-point milestone and has now scored 1,096 for her career. For her efforts, Parks was also named to the all-tournament team following postseason play.
