Parks Named to NEWBA Weekly Honor Roll
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Elms College sophomore forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the organization on Monday.
Parks earned her fourth NEWBA weekly honor after leading the Blazers to a 2-1 record in its final three games of the regular season. Parks, who became the seventh player in Elms' women's basketball history to score 1,000 points, totaled 61 total points during the three games, including 28 in a 70-63 loss to Newbury College. Parks scored 19 and 14 points in wins over Daniel Webster College and Wheelock College respectively and helped the Blazers claim the second seed in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament for the second consecutive year.
