Parks, Pickett Named All-NECC

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore forwards Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) and JC Pickett (Chicopee, Mass.) were each named All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) as announced by the league office on Monday.

For the second straight season, Parks was named First Team All-NECC. Parks averaged 27.6 points per game and 12.7 rebounds per game during league action this season helping Elms capture the second seed in postseason play and reach its second consecutive NECC Tournament title game. In just her second season of action at the collegiate level, Parks reached the 1,000-point milestone and has now scored 1,096 for her career. For her efforts, Parks was also named to the all-tournament team following postseason play.

Pickett was named Honorable Mention All-NECC after scoring an average of 9.6 points per game and notching 7.6 rebounds per game. Pickett scored in double figures in six NECC games this season including a collegiate-career high of 23 points in Elms' first league contest of the campaign at Becker College on Dec. 4 in Leicester, Mass.

Elms also earned the team sportsmanship award during the 2012-13 season.
