Women's Basketball Tabbed Second in 2012 NECC Preseason Poll

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Elms College women's basketball team received two first place votes and was selected to finish second in the 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Preseason Poll as announced by the league office on Monday. 

The Blazers, directed by 11th-year head coach Laura Habacker, finished the 2011-12 campaign 14-4 in conference and won their first NECC title and a berth in the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Championship. Coach Habacker was named the 2011-12 NECC Coach of the Year. The 2012-13 edition of Elms is led by sophomore forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) who was named the NECC, NEWBA and ECAC New England Rookie of the Year after averaging 19.0 points and 12.7 rebounds per game.
