Parks Named NECC Player of the Week and to NEWBA Honor Roll

Elms College sophomore forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week in women's basketball and was also selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll as announced by the organizations on Monday. 

Parks earned her second NECC weekly honor of the season after helping the Blazers to a 3-0 week in NECC action. Parks, who averaged a double-double of 20.7 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, scored 25 against Bay Path College - her game high for the week - as she finished with 62 total points during the three-game stretch. Parks also secured 15 of her 38 rebounds in a win over Mitchell College, added five of her 10 steals against the Mariners, and distributed five of her eight assists in a win over Southern Vermont College. This was her third NEWBA weekly honor roll award of the season.
