NASHUA, N.H. – Elms College sophomore forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) came off the bench to score 19 points and has now scored 1,000 points for her career as the Blazers posted a 70-62 victory over Daniel Webster College in Wednesday evening's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's basketball game in Nashua, N.H.

Three Elms starters scored in double figures including sophomore forward JC Pickett (Chicopee, Mass.) who was 8 of 13 from the field en route to 19 points, tying Parks for the team-high. Senior guard Jen Normandie (Westford, Mass.) added 13 points on 5 of 12 shooting and sophomore guard Gianna Youngblood (East Freetown, Mass.) drilled three treys to highlight an 11-point effort.

Normandie and freshman guard Jenna Oyler (Metuchen, N.J.) combined to dish out 13 assists, while Parks and Pickett cleaned up the glass with 14 and 11 rebounds respectively.

Daniel Webster was led by Vanessa Bosques (Windham, Conn.) who scored a game-high 23 points on 8 of 23 shooting from the floor. Ashley England (Old Town, Maine) added 14 points and Emily Travis (Somerset, Mass.) netted 10 to give the Eagles three starters in double figures.

Ariel Guzman (Yonkers, N.Y.) came off the bench and chipped in eight points, Travis led the team with eight rebounds and four blocked shots, and Bosques recorded four steals.

Elms outshot Daniel Webster 43.3-percent to 34.3-percent and led the rebounding effort, 49-33.

With the score tied at 47-47 with 9:18 to play in the game, Youngblood canned one of her three three-pointers and Parks made a layup to give the Blazers a 52-47 lead.

England answered with a triple of her own to set the score at 52-50 but the Eagles could get no closer than two points as Pickett hit on 3 of 4 from the charity stripe and scored nine of Elms' final 18 points to help close out a 70-62 victory.

Elms is back in action on Saturday, February 16 when it hosts Newbury College in its regular season finale at 2:00 p.m. at Picknelly Arena.
