NECC Women’s Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Elms College women's basketball team had two players selected to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) all-conference teams as announced by the league office on Monday.
Junior forward Erika Murphy (Torrington, Conn.) was selected to the All-NECC First Team, while junior guard Katie Condon (Sandy Hook, Conn.) earned Honorable Mention All-NECC honors.
Against Elms' conference slate, Murphy led the Blazers in almost every statistical category including points (256), points per game (16.0), rebounds (191), rebounds per game (11.9), assists (40), steals (35), blocked shots (12), made field goals (94), field goal percentage (42.9-percent), made free throws (68) and free throw percentage (78.2). Her overall totals in each of those categories also rank her on the program's single-season top 10 lists. Murphy ranked first in the league in free throw percentage, third in both scoring and rebounding, seventh in field goal percentage and steals, and ninth in blocked shots.
In 16 league games, Condon scored a second-best 149 points averaging 9.3 per contest, and also hauled in a second-best 110 rebounds (6.9 per game). She also handed out 39 assists, and recorded 23 steals against conference competition. Condon now ranks ninth on Elms' all-time rebounds list with 359 for her career.
