Murphy Named To NEWBA Weekly Honor Roll

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Elms College junior forward Erika Murphy (Torrington, Mass.) was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll for the second time this season as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The NEWBA is an organization comprised of Division III head coaches from the New England region who have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization. There are weekly and yearly awards that are voted upon and at the conclusion of each season the NEWBA sponsors the Senior All-Star Classic which will be hosted by Western New England College (WNEC) in late March. 

In Elms' 1-1 week, Murphy connected on 19 of 34 shooting from the field, registering team-highs of 19 and 22 points against Daniel Webster and Newbury respectively. She also averaged 9.0 rebounds per game, hauling in a total of 18 including 11 in the win versus Newbury. For the week she dished out four assists and added four steals.
