Normandie Garners NECC Weekly Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Elms College sophomore guard Jen Normandie (Westford, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for women's basketball as announced by the league office on Monday.
Against Westfield State University on opening day (Nov. 15), Normandie connected for 15 second half points before totaling 34 points during the Blazer Tip-Off Tournament that included a collegiate career-high 26 against Simmons in the tournament title game. For the week, Normandie shot 51-percent from the floor (20 for 39), 66-percent from three-point range (2 for 3) and 70-percent from the free throw line (7 for 10). This is Normandie's first weekly accolade of the 2010-11 season.
