Murphy Named NECC Player Of The Week In Women's Basketball
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Elms College junior forward Erika Murphy (Torrington, Conn.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week in women's basketball as announced by the league on Monday.
Murphy led the Blazers in a 1-1 week defeating Anna Maria 55-53 and falling to Castleton 53-46. Murphy averaged 15.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game during the week highlighted by a double-double effort of 14 points and 13 boards against the Amcats and 17 points against the Spartans. For the week, she shot 14 of 35 from the field and 3 of 4 from the free throw line en route to her 31 points for the week. This is Murphy's first weekly accolade of the season.
