Murphy Named NECC Player Of The Week In Women's Basketball
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Elms College junior forward Erika Murphy (Torrington, Conn.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week in women's basketball as announced by the league on Monday.
Murphy garnered her second NECC weekly accolade of the season after netting 48 total points en route to a 2-0 week during conference action. Murphy poured in a game-high and collegiate-career best 29 points against Newbury College and netted 19 points in a win over Becker College. Murphy, who averaged 24.0 points per game, also averaged 15.0 rebounds per game hauling in 18 against the Nighthawks and 12 against the Hawks. She also shot 14 of 18 from the free throw line and recorded four blocked shots during the week.
