Men's Golf Seventh At Blazer Spring Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team wrapped up their 2016-17 season with a seventh-place finish at the 2017 Blazer Spring Invitational, hosted by Elms at The Orchards Golf Club Monday afternoon.

The Blazers fired a team score of 330 in 18 holes of action. Junior Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) carded a team-low 77 to finish 12th overall on the individual leaderboard. Freshman Matt King (Feeding Hills, Mass.) claimed a share of 23rd with an 82, sophomore Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) tied at 31st with an 85, and junior Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) was one stroke back in 35th with an 86. Freshmen William Marchand (Springfield, Mass.) was 47th with a 91, Mike McFadden (Northampton, Mass.) was 53th with a 98, and Devin Senerchia (Ludlow, Mass.) took 54th with a 101.

Trinity College won the event with a team score of 300, while Bantams sophomore Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) was the individual medalist after winning a four-way, three-hole playoff. Babson (309) finished second, followed by Rhode Island College (312), UMass-Dartmouth (317), Westfield State (318), American International College (321), Elms, Springfield (332), Emmanuel (349), Johnson State (362), and MCLA completed the tournament scoreboard.
