Men's Golf 17th After 18 Holes At NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team owns a share of 17th on the team leaderboard after the first round of action at the 82nd Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship, hosted at the Captain's Course Sunday afternoon.

The Blazers recorded a team score of 333 to sit tied with Suffolk University, and 26 strokes shy of the top of the leaderboard. Sophomore Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) led the Blazers with a team-low 81, joining a cluster at 34th overall. Junior Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) is one stroke back in a tie at 42nd with an 82. Freshman Matt King (Feeding Hills, Mass.) fired an 84 to grab a share of 57th, while junior Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) claimed a share of 75th with an 86. Freshman Devin Senerchia (Ludlow, Mass.) rounded out the Blazers golfers, shooting a 108 to take 99th overall.

The Blazers will return to the course Monday afternoon for the final round of competition at the NEIGA Championship.
