Men's Golf 16th After 18 Holes At Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf squad sits in a tie at 16th on the team leaderboard after the opening 18 holes of play at the 2016 Williams Fall Invitational, hosted by Williams College, at Taconic Golf Club Championship Course Saturday afternoon.

The Blazers posted a team score of 345 to sit even with Wesleyan University. Sophomore Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) led Elms with a team-low 83 for a share of 58th. Freshman William Marchand (Springfield, Mass.) was three shots back with an 86 for a tie at 70th, while junior Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) came in tied at 73rd with an 87. Freshman Matt King (Feeding Hills, Mass.) shot an 89 for a share of 80th, while junior Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) round out the Blazers golfers at 85th with a 91.

Trinity (Conn.) leads the field with a score of 301, followed by Williams 'A' (302), Amherst (305), Middlebury (307), and Tufts (309) to compose the top five of the team leaderboard. Babson (310) sits sixth, trailed by Salem State (312), Rhode Island College (317), Western New England (318), Williams 'B' and Manhattanville (319), Bowdoin (321), Hamilton (324), Springfield (327), Johnson & Wales (RI) (341), Elms and Wesleyan, and MCLA (347) completes the invitational field.

The Blazers will look to climb the leaderboard during the final 18 holes of action at Taconic Sunday afternoon at 9:00 a.m.
