Men's Golf Fourth After 18 Holes At Blazer Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team sits fourth overall on the team leaderboard after 18 holes of action at the 2016 Blazer Fall Invitational, held at Hickory Ridge Golf Club Saturday afternoon. The Blazers shot a team score of 323 and sit 18 shots off the lead.

Freshman Matt King (Feeding Hills, Mass.) leads the Blazers after firing a career-low 76 through 18 holes to own a share of third overall. Sophomore Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) sits tied at ninth after matching his career-low with a 79, while junior Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) is one stroke back in a tie at 17th with an 80. Junior Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) posted an 88 for 35th, and freshman William Marchand (Springfield, Mass.) claimed a share of 38th with a 94. Freshman Devin Senerchia (Ludlow, Mass.) rounded out the Blazers golfers, sitting at 46th with a 103.

Rhode Island College leads the event with a score of 305. Endicott (312) is second, followed by Westfield State (322), Elms (323), Nichols (326), Emmanuel (Mass.) (332), Suffolk (343), Purchase (352), Daniel Webster (356), and Becker (390) to complete the tournament field.

The teams will be back at the links Sunday morning at Hickory Ridge. Tee times will start at 10:00 a.m.
