Rego Named NECC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

CHICOPEE, MA – Elms College sophomore setter/outside hitter Jen Rego (Fall River, MA) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 22-28 as announced by the league office on Monday.

Rego guided the Blazers to a 1-1 week, defeating Mt. Holyoke 3-1 and before falling to UMass Dartmouth 1-3. Rego notched 12 kills, 17 assists, and 21 digs for the seven sets. In the victory over Mt. Holyoke, the program’s first which ended a 10-match skid, Rego hit .296 grabbing a triple-double with 10 kills, 13 assists and 17 digs. For the week, Rego tallied 1.71 kills (per set), 2.43 assists (per set), 0.29 service aces (per set) and 3.00 digs (per set).
