With the win, the Blazers improve to 2-8 season, and 1-0 in the conference, while Newbury College falls to 1-4, 0-1 in league play.

Senior guard Annie Dunnack (Mansfield Center, Conn.) scored a game high 23 points in the Blazers winning effort.

Following a closely contested first half, the Blazers would go on to outscore Newbury College 44-29 in the second frame en route to an 18-point victory.

It remained a three point game until another pair of Dunnack free throws sparked a 15-0 run over the last 5:59 to seal the Blazers’ victory. Those free throws were just two of Dunnack’s 16 second half points.

Blazers freshman guard Jen Normandie (Westford, Mass.) contributed with 10 points to lend a major hand in Elms College’s winning effort.
