Normandie Named NECC Rookie of the Week
CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman
women’s basketball player Jen Normandie (Westford,
Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference
(NECC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on
Monday.
Normandie earned the conference accolade for the week of Nov.
16-22, helping the Blazers to a 1-1 record at the 2009 Blazer
Tip-Off Tournament. Elms downed Johnson State 57-46 in the opening
game before falling 69-59 against MCLA in the tournament
championship game. Normandie scored 11 points and snagged seven
rebounds off the bench in the first two games and connected on 3 of
4 from the free throw line.
