Field Hockey Raises Over $600 For Team Jacob

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College field hockey team recently raised $605 for the family of 16-year-old Jacob Carlander who has been battling hepatoblastoma. The team raised the money through 50/50 raffle sales at the Blazers' spring sporting events and in the Mary Dooley College Center.

Hepatoblastoma is the most common form of liver cancer in children. Through the donations of Elms College students, parents and fans, the field hockey team was able to raise $605 which will be donated to the Carlander family to help offset the cost of the illness.

Bruce Carter – a public safety officer in O'Leary Hall – won the 50/50 raffle and donated the money back to Jacob and his family.

Thank you all for your generosity and support!
