Field Hockey Places Five on All-Conference Teams
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Elms College field hockey team placed five players on the All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) teams as announced by the league office on Monday.
Elms' senior midfielder Brianna Lyons (Canton, Mass.), junior defender Ashley Reid (Enfield, Conn.), sophomore forward Kristina Kopyscinski (Agawam, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Abby McNulty (Bedford, Mass.) were all named First Team-All NECC.
Kopyscinski led the team in goals scored with five during conference play and had two assists. Lyons followed with four goals and an assist, while McNulty hit the cage three times and dished out a pair of assists in league action. Reid was stellar in the defensive third of the field helping the Blazers to a pair of shutout wins in conference play.
Sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Alvino (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named Honorable Mention All-NECC after posting 40 saves, a .833 save percentage, a 1.29 goals against average, and two shutout wins.
