Fourteen Field Hockey Players Named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Fourteen Elms College field hockey players were named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad as recently announced by the organization.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

In addition, three field hockey players named 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction: junior Meghan Goodrow (Sunderland, Mass.), sophomore Samantha Alvino (Holtsville, N.Y.) and freshman Stephanie Esposito (Orange, Conn.)

These student athletes have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2013‐14 academic year.

The fourteen players that earned National Academic Squad recognition are as follows:

Seniors Julie Hurley (Palmer, Mass.) and Brianna Lyons (Canton, Mass.), juniors Goodrow, Allie LaMonica (Salem, Mass.), Kayla Narey (South Hadley, Mass.), Hannah O'Brien (Granby, Conn.), Jaclyn Soderquist (Enfield, Conn.), and Elizabeth Patient (Leicester, Mass.), sophomores Alvino, Colleen Carbonneau (Manchester, N.H.), Allison Masi (West Springfield, Mass.) and Haleigh Varieur (Winchendon, Mass.), and freshmen Esposito and Marie Lafortune (Southwick, Mass.) each garnered national academic honors.
