Three Second Half Goals Spark Clark University Past Field Hockey, 5-0

WORCESTER , Mass.  – Elms College sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Alvino (Holtsville, N.Y.) made 16 saves, but Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) scored two goals to help lift Clark University to a 5-0 lead over the Blazers in Thursday evening's non-conference field hockey game in Worcester, Mass.

With the loss, Elms moves to 1-6 on the season, while Clark moves to 3-2 overall.

Mackey scored a pair of goals early – one at the 5:24 mark and one at the 15:00 minute mark to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead.

Erin O'Neil (Willington, Conn.) added a score at the 44:03 minute mark and Isabelle Zoeckler (Madison, Conn.) scored three minutes later to set the score at 4-0. Talia Fish (Philadelphia, Pa.) capped the scoring in the 57th minute to set the final score at 5-0.

Zoeckler added a pair of assists to go along with her marker, and Fish also chipped in a helper to help lead the Cougar attack.

Elms' sophomore forward Kristina Kopyscinski (Agawam, Mass.) notched the Blazers' lone shot of the contest which was turned aside by Clark goalkeeper Christine Tinsman (Prairie Village, Kan.).

Elms returns to non-league play on Saturday, September 21 when it hosts Vassar College at 11:00 a.m. at Leary Field.
