Parks Named NECC Rookie of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second week in a row, Elms College freshman forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week in women's basketball as announced by the league on Monday.
Despite a 0-1 week, Parks led the team with 16 points and seven rebounds in a loss to Smith College. Parks was 8 of 15 from the field and pulled in five defensive boards for the Blazers. She is now averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game and a team-high 11.3 points rebounds per contest and has twice been named NECC Rookie of the Week.
