Rainey Named NECVA New England Division Rookie of the Week
JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Elms College freshman middle hitter Bryson Rainey (Brookline, Mass.) was named the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division Rookie of the Week as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Rainey smashed eight kills on 16 attempts with just two misfires to record a .375 hitting percentage and help the Blazers close out its 2011 campaign with a 3-1 win over Johnson & Wales University. During that match, Rainey also assisted on three blocks and notched a team-best seven digs en route to his second NECVA New England Division Rookie of the Week honor.
