Acosta Named NECVA New England Division Player of the Week
JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Elms College junior Yonalvy Acosta (Holyoke, Mass.) was named the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division Player of the Week as announced by the organization on Friday.
Acosta helped the Blazers post a 2-1 record during last week's competition, downing a total of 41 kills in 11 sets for a 3.73 kills per set average. Acosta also recorded 10 digs in a 3-1 win over the University of New Haven and totaled 13 digs for the week in addition to registering three solo blocks in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship match against Newbury College and finishing with four solo and an assisted block for the week en route to earning his first NECVA New England Division honor of the season.
