CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman Tessa Dudunake (Northampton, Mass.) earned three first place finishes and shattered a pair of school records, while sophomore Zach LeBarron (Bennington, V.T.) set two new school record and tied another to help lift the Blazers to a sweep of Regis College in Saturday morning’s men’s and women’s swimming dual meet at Partyka Natatorium.

The men’s team earned a 127-87 victory over Regis and are now 6-4 on the season, while the women’s squad downed the Pride 152-83 to improve to 7-5 overall.

The men’s 200-meter medley relay team of senior Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, Conn.), sophomore Garrett Brune (Lakeville, Mass.), LeBarron, and sophomore Adam Tonnesen (Norwich, Conn.) set a new school record with a time of 1:58.92.

LeBarron established a new school mark by clocking a 28.42 in the 50-meter butterfly, and set a new record in the 100-meter individual medley with a time of 1:07.69. He also tied his own time of 25.33 in the 50-meter freestyle which also stands as a school record.

Blazers’ junior Nick Whitman (Florence, Mass.) turned in a time of 1:08.09 in the 100-metere butterfly to win the event and set a new school record.

Brune etched a new school record in the 50-meter breaststroke (33.91) and registered a 1:16.02 in the 100-meter breaststroke, and finished second behind freshman Mark Gehring (West Springfield, Mass.) in the 400-meter freestyle (5:29.59).

Gehring clocked a winning time of 4:45.22 in the 400-meter freestyle, and added top finishes in the 1500-meter freestyle and 200-meter freestyle events, notching times of 18:16.36 and 2:18.45 respectively.

Tonnesen and DiMauro provided a one-two punch in the 50-meter backstroke, collecting times of 31.09 and 32.03 respectively. Tonnesen added top honors in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:00.15.

For the women, Dudunake set new school records in the 50-meter freestyle (29.67), 100-meter freestyle (1:04.70) and won the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:23.60.

Sophomore Katie Roberts (Torrington, Conn.) notched a pair of victories in the 50-meter breaststroke (40.11) and clocked a 1:27.32 in the 100-meter breaststroke and registered a time of 1:21.24 in the 100-meter individual medley.

Sophomore Ashley Arbo (Kensington, Conn.) secured top finishes in the 50-meter backstroke (34.38), the 200-meter backstroke (2:40.50) and picked up a time of 1:15.80 in the 100-meter individual medley.

Junior Theresa Pitassi (Naugatuck, Conn.) won the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 5:25.88 and freshman Emalee Furtek (Ludlow, Mass.) garnered top honors in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 34.30.

For the Regis men’s squad, Ben Perry (Chicopee, Mass.) set a new Elms College pool record in the 200-meter backstroke, recording a time of 2:25.33 to shatter the previous mark of 2:27.23 set in 2003.

Perry also won the 100-meter individual medley, while Megan Pratt (Rockland, Mass.) won the women’s 100-meter individual medley for the Pride.

Christina Estrada (Bellingham, Mass.) also set a new Elms pool record in 1500-meter freestyle, notching a time of 20:05.79. Estrada broke former Blazer, Kathryn Meade's record of 20:50.03, which she set in 2006.

The Elms men’s team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Vassar Invitational (1:00 p.m.), while the women’s squad returns to Partyka Natatorium for a tri-meet against St. Joseph (Conn.) and Husson University at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6.
