Swimming Coach Bill Tyler To Speak At Western Massachusetts Swim Officials Banquet

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College men’s and women’s swimming head coach Bill Tyler will be honored as the guest speaker at the 2009-10 Western Massachusetts Swim Officials banquet at the Ludlow Country Club on Monday, March 1 at 5:45 p.m.

The event honors the season’s best high school swimmers and teams from the Western Massachusetts area.

Coach Tyler, who won the Western Massachusetts Swimmer of the Year award in 1977, was selected as this year’s guest speaker by member official Matt Chenier, whose son John was an assistant coach of the Elms swimming programs during the 2006-07 season.

Coach Tyler, who is in his sixth season as head coach of the Blazers’ swimming programs, led each squad to the best finish in program history as the women finished 9-5, while the men finished 6-4 during the dual meet season.
