WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, V.T. - The Elms College
men's and women's swim teams complete the third and final day of
action at the 2010 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving
Association (NEISDA) Championships, Sunday, in White River
Junction, V.T.
The women's squad finished 13th out of 22 teams, while the men's
team placed seventh out of a 13-team field.
For the women, freshman Tessa Dudunake (Northampton,
Mass.) clocked a new school record in the 100-yard
individual medley with a 1:04.45 to claim fourth place in the
championship finals of the event. Sophomore Ashley Arbo
(Kensington, Conn.) notched a 1:07.23 to finish 12th in
the consolation finals of the event.
Freshman Chalis Bird (Windsor, Conn.) placed 16th
overall in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.92.
On the men's side, junior Adam Tonnesen (Norwich,
Conn.) notched a new school record in the 100-yard
individual medley with a 57.73 to secure an eighth place finish,
and also earned a ninth place finish in the 50-yard backstroke with
a time of 26.53.
Sophomore Garrett Brune (Lakeville, Mass.)
registered a 2:28.39 in the 200-yard breaststroke to garner 10th
place honors, while freshman Mark Gehring (West
Springfield, Mass.) finished the 1650-yard freestyle in
10th place with a time of 17:58.98.
Sophomore Zach LeBarron (Bennington, V.T.)
touched the wall in fifth place in the 100-yard freestyle, earning
a time of 48.79 in the championship finals of the event.
The squad of LeBarron, Tonnesen, senior Jason DiMauro (New
Hartford, Conn.) and Gehring capped the season with a
record-breaking time of 3:22.01 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
