DARTMOUTH, Mass. –
Elms College sophomore Zach LeBarron (Bennington, V.T.) set three school records, while sophomore Ashley Arbo (Kensington, Conn.) broke two school records in Saturday afternoon’s men’s and women’s swimming dual meet at UMass-Dartmouth.

With the win the UMass-Dartmouth men’s team improves to 3-2, while the women’s team moves to 2-4 on the season. The Corsairs’ men’s team earned a 155-107 decision, while the women’s team won 160-122.

With the loss, the Elms men’s team drops to 3-1 on the season, while the women’s team falls to 2-3 overall.

On the men’s side, LeBarron set new records in the 50-yard freestyle (21.91), the 100-freestyle (49.84), and swam a sizzling 25.20 in the 50-yard butterfly.

Sophomore Nick Provost (Three Rivers, Mass.) registerd a top time of 2:14.26 in the 200-yard IM, and added second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.84) behind freshman Mark Gehring's (West Springfield, Mass.) best time of 5:26.96.

On the women’s side, Arbo clocked a top time in the 100-yard freestyle (58.36) and a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:53.51) - both for new school records. Arbo also added a victory in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 30.22.

Freshman Tessa Dudunake (Northampton, Mass.) added a trio of top finishes to help pace the Blazers in the meet. Dudunake recorded winning times in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.87), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.06) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:06.87).

The team of Arbo, Dudunake, and freshmen Emalee Furtek (Ludlow, Mass.) and Chalis Bird (Windsor, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay (2:02.25). Bird also added a victory in the 50-yard freestyle gliding to a time of 27:05.

The Elms men’s and women’s swimming teams will return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 9 when they host Mount St. Mary’s (N.Y.). The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Partyka Natatorium.
