Tyler, Soutra, Brune Compete At Bay State Games

BOSTON, Mass., July 23, 2010 - College men and women's swimming head coach Bill Tyler, assistant coach Corey Soutra and junior swimmer Garrett Brune (Lakeville, Mass.) recently competed at the 2010 Bay State Games.

Coach Tyler won the master's 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle races with times of 28.74 and 104.29 respectively. He also placed first in the 100-meter butterfly (1:13.74) and finished second in the 800-meter freestyle event with a time of 11:30.83.

Soutra garnered top honors in the 100-meter backstroke (1:46.38), while Brune placed second in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:20.56).

Coach Tyler's daughter Kathryn also competed and placed first in the 50-meter freestyle (29.82). She was also the anchor leg of the top finishing 200-meter freestyle and medley relay times in the 13-15 year old girls division.
