Men’s Swimming Earns Split Against Gordon, Norwich
WENHAM, Mass. – Elms College sophomore
Zach LeBarron (Bennington, V.T.) won a trio of
events to help pace the Blazers to a split in Saturday
afternoon’s men’s swimming tri-meet against Gordon
College and Norwich University in Wenham, Mass.
Elms topped host Gordon 86-34, but fell 68-54 to Norwich. With the
split, the Blazers move to 5-4 on the season.
LeBarron glided to top finishes in the 50-yard freestyle with a
time of 22.75, the 100-yard freestyle (50.20) and the 100-yard
individual medley (1:00.32).
Sophomore Garrett Brune (Lakeville, Mass.)
recorded first place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke and the
100-yard breaststroke with times of 31.32 and 1:09.00 respectively,
while Mark Gehring (West Springfield, Mass.)
garnered victories in the 1650-yard freestyle and 500-yard
freestyle events. Gehring posted times of 18:05.29 and 5:21.90
respectively.
The men’s swim team returns to Partyka Natatorium on
Saturday, Jan. 30 when it hosts Regis College in dual meet action.
First race is set for 11:00 a.m.
