Men's Golf 14th at Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational

N. DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team sits in 14th-place on the team leaderboard after day one of the 2015 Westport Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational, hosted by UMass-Dartmouth at Allendale Country Club Friday afternoon.

The Blazers fired a team score of 348 through the first 18 holes of competition. Sophomore Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) owns a share of 11th overall with a score 79. Freshman Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) is tied at 50th after shooting an 86, while freshman Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) is knotted at 68th with a 91. Sophomore Ryan Finneral (Tewksbury, Mass.) is 73rd with a 92, followed by junior Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) at 93 for a share of 74th.

Rhode Island College sits at the top of the team leaderboard with a score of 314, followed by Endicott (320), UMass-Dartmouth (321), Tufts (321), and Salem State (322) to compose the top five. Worcester State and Husson (327) are tied at sixth, trailed by Amherst (328), Nichols (328), Castleton State (330), Babson (332), Roger Williams (332), Johnson & Wales (RI) (347), Elms (348), Suffolk (350), St. Joseph's (ME) (354), and Wentworth (355) round out the tournament field.

The Blazers will look to climb the leaderboard on the final day of competition at Allendale Country Club Saturday afternoon.
