Men's Golf 16th After Day One of RIC Invitational

WARWICK, R.I. – The Elms College men's golf sits in 16th on the team leaderboard after the opening round of play at the 2015 Rhode Island College Invitational, hosted by Rhode Island College at Valley Country Club Friday afternoon. 

The Blazers carded a team score of 342 through 18 holes of competition. Sophomore Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) and freshman Brian Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) own a share of 50th overall after firing an 82 apiece. Freshman Mike Fleury (West Springfield, Mass.) shot an 85, while junior Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) posted a 93. Sophomore Ryan Finneral (Tewksbury, Mass.) rounded out the Blazers golfers with a score of 94. 

Williams College leads the field with after recording a 300 after day one. Rhode Island College (305) sits in second, followed by Tufts (310), Western New England (312), and Manhattanville College (313) round out the top five of the team leaderboard. UMass-Dartmouth (315) is sixth, trailed by Suffolk (316), Wentworth (318), Endicott (319), Johnson & Wales (RI) (321), Nichols (321), Roger Williams (321), Husson (323), Babson (324), Worcester State (331), Elms (342), and St. Joseph's (ME) (355) completed the competition field.

The Blazers will return to Valley Country Club Tuesday afternoon for the final round of competition.
