Golfers Receive NECC Honors

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Two Elms College men's golfers were recognized by the New England Collegiate Conference for their efforts for the Blazers last week. Sophomore Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) was named NECC Golfer of the Week, while freshman Mike Fleury was selected as NECC Men's Golf Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Miele fired a season-low 73 to guide the Blazers to a third-place finish at the 2014 Blazers Fall Invitational at the Westover Golf Course last week. Chris finished as runner-up to the individual medalist, Jonathan Cooper of Rhode Island College, sitting just one stroke back of Cooper. Fleury carded an 81 to match the second-best score on the team during the event.
The Blazers will return to action when they compete in the NECC Championship on October 4th and 5th.
