Men's Golf Takes Third at Blazers Invitational

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf squad took third in the 2014 Blazers Fall Invitational, hosted by Elms, at the Westover Golf Course Wednesday afternoon.

The Blazers carded a team score of 319 on the day, finishing ten strokes off the top of the team leaderboard. Chris Miele was the individual runner-up in the tournament, firing a 73 in 18 holes. Mike Fleury and Nick Smith each posted an 81, while Brian Cowles recorded an 84. Dan Olive registered a 93, and Ryan Finneral shot a 96 to round out the Elms golfers.

Rhode Island College won the event with a score of 309, followed by Castleton State College at 312. Trailing Elms was Nichols (323), Westfield State (324), Babson "Green" (324), Worcester State (328), Babson "White" (328), Sage (330), Newbury (338), Daniel Webster (346), Norwich (350), Emmanuel (353), Becker (376), Mitchell (387), and Eastern Nazarene (480).

The Blazers will look to return to the links on Saturday October 4^th for the first round of competition at the NECC Championships.
