Women’s Swimming in 15th Place After Day Two Action at NEISDA Championship

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. – The Elms College women's swim team is currently in 15th place out of 20 teams following Saturday's New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving (NEISDA) Championship action hosted by the University of Rhode Island.

Due to the inclement weather scheduled for Saturday evening, the finals were held Saturday morning. Elms concludes NEISDA Championship action on Sunday, February 16 at 9:00 a.m.

The 200-yard medley relay team of senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.), freshman Brianna Sylvester (Springfield, Mass.), freshman Abigail Will (Hopkinton, Mass.), and junior Erika Aponte (Palmer, Mass.) finished 12th with a time of 2:03.64.

DeGrazia finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.93, Will placed 18th in the 50-yard butterfly (29.84), and Sylvester secured a 26th place time of 1:21.74 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The 800-yard freestyle relay tandem of senior Gabrielle Calvanese (Agawam, Mass.), sophomore Crystal Archibald (Portland, Maine), Aponte and senior Kelly Gilhooly (Bloomfield, Mass.) clocked at time of 10:21.94 and came in 14th in the event.
