Women’s Swimming Falls to Colby-Sawyer College, Plymouth State University

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) won three individual events, but the Blazers suffered a 212-70 loss to host Colby-Sawyer College and a 182-85 defeat to Plymouth State University in Saturday afternoon's women's swimming double-dual meet in New London, N.H.

With the losses, Elms moves to 1-4 on the season, while Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-1 overall and Plymouth State moves to 1-1 on the season. The Chargers topped the Panthers, 178-112.

DeGrazia clocked top times in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:28.32), the 50-yard backstroke (29.55) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.74).

Freshman Abigail Will (Hopkinton, Mass.) placed third in the 50-yard freestyle (28.17) and the yard individual medley (1:11.76) and secured fourth place honors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.97.

The 200-yard freestyle relay combination of DeGrazia, freshman Sarah Swart (Willington, Conn.), senior Kelly Gilhooly (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Will contributed a third place mark with a time of 1:56.07.

Elms returns to action on Tuesday, November 19 when it travels to Smith College for a 7:00 p.m. meet.
