Women's Swimming Falls to Smith College, 164-104
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) glided to three individual wins, but Smith College notched a 164-104 victory over the Blazers in Tuesday evening's swim meet in Northampton, Mass.
With the loss, Elms moves to 1-5 overall, while Smith improves to 3-2 overall.
DeGrazia won the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.62), the 50-yard butterfly (28.63), and the 200-yard backstroke (2:20.49).
Freshman Abigail Will (Hopkinton, Mass.) was second in the 50-yard freestyle (28.00) and won the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.98) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:31.04).
The 200-yard medley relay team of DeGrazia, sophomore Crystal Archibald (Portland, Maine), Will and freshman Sarah Swart (Willington, Conn.) clocked a time of 2:10.08 to place second in the race.
Senior Gabrielle Calvanese (Agawam, Mass.) also won an event - the 200-yard breaststroke - with a time of 3:07.40.
Elms returns to action on Saturday, November 23 at UMass-Dartmouth at 1:00 p.m.
