CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College sophomore forward Victoria Cebula (Granby, Mass.) scored a second half goal, but Mount Holyoke College's Hannah Yee (Amherst, Mass.) scored two goals and assisted on another to propel the Lyons to a 5-1 victory over the Blazers in Thursday afternoon's non-conference women's soccer game at Leary Field.

With the loss, Elms slides to 6-5-3 on the season, while Mount Holyoke improves to 4-9 overall.

The Lyons struck first in the 22nd minute with a goal from Mary Cooke (Okemos, Mich.) off a Mallory Phaneuf (Manchester, N.H.) cross to set the score at 1-0.

Mount Holyoke added to its lead when Yee blasted a goal from 20 yards out on a free kick in the 34th minute mark to stake a 2-0 advantage which it held for the remainder of the opening period.

Yee tallied her second goal in the 48th minute courtesy of an assist by Cooke to give the Lyons a 3-0 cushion before Cebula beat the keeper with a blast to the right side of the net cutting Elms' deficit to 3-1 in the 58th minute of play.

Mount Holyoke upped its lead back to three goals when Amber Legare (Chicopee, Mass.) took advantage of a centering pass from Yee at the 65:59 mark and Kara Singleton (South Hiram, Maine) added a scoring strike in the 80th minute on Cooke's second helper of the game to give the Lyons a 5-1 lead.

Mount Holyoke outshot the Blazers 22-14, highlighted by three shots on net from Legare, while four other players placed two shots on goal.

Elms' offensive effort was directed by Cebula and senior forward Erica Griffo (Syracuse, N.Y.) who each fired three shots on goal.

Blazers' sophomore goalkeeper Hayley Zisk (Baldwinville, Mass.) turned away seven shots in the losing effort, while Mount Holyoke net-minder Emily Shank (Northfield, Minn.) contributed seven saves to seal the win.

Elms returns to action on Saturday, October 22 when it visits Bay Path College for a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) matchup. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
