Box Score

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Elms College sophomore goalkeeper Hayley Zisk (Baldwinville, Mass.) made 13 saves and senior forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) scored a goal, but four second half scores by Vassar College lifted the Brewers to a convincing 6-1 win over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon's non-conference women's soccer game in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

With the loss, Elms slides to 0-2-1 on the season, while Vassar improves to 4-3 overall.

Killion gave Elms an early 1-0 lead when she broke through the defense and beat the keeper with a shot to the far left corner of the net in the 20th minute of play.

The lead was short-lived as Alix Zongrone (Spartanburg, S.C.) deflected Sarah Bourenane's (Carrollton, Texas) corner kick into the back of the net at the 20:58 mark to even the game at 1-1.

Vassar added to its lead with just under 10 minutes to play in the opening half when Sheeva Seyfi (Irvine, Calif.) delivered the first of her three goals to give the Brewers a 2-1 edge at halftime.

Kylie Ladenberger (Highlands Ranch, Col.) started Vassar's second half surge with an unassisted goal in the 50th minute, while Seyfi netted goals in the 53rd and 71st minutes respectively to extend the lead to 5-1. Gavriella Kaplan (Robbinsville, N.J.) capped the scoring at the 78:43 mark to seal the 6-1 victory.

Vassar outshot the Blazers 32-3 in the game.

Elms returns to action on Monday, Sept. 19 when it travels to Mount Ida College for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
