LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Elms College junior goalkeeper Alexandra Bonavita (Agawam, Mass.) recorded eight saves but Bay Path College's Amanda Bridge (Laconia, N.H.) scored what stood as the game-winner in the 45th minute to lift the Wildcats to a 3-0 victory in Saturday afternoon's non-conference field hockey game at Ryan Field.

With the loss, Elms slides to 1-5 on the season, while Bay Path improves to 1-5 overall.

Elms held a slight shot advantage after 35 minutes of scoreless action, 7-5 before Bridge found the back of the net with the game's first goal.

Bay Path continued to apply the offensive pressure as Deanna Flagg (Enfield, Conn.) scored off a cross inside the circle from Shayna Fish (Jaffrey, Vt.) in the 63rd minute, before Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, Mass.) drove in the final goal from 35 yards back in the 69th minute to secure the win for the Wildcats.

Bay Path net-minder Samantha Berrios (New York, N.Y.) recorded her first shutout of the 2011 season tallying six saves.

Elms' sophomore midfielder Brianna Lyons (Canton, Mass.) and freshman forward Tatiana Frizzell (Brattleboro, Vt.) laced two shots on target for the Blazers in the losing effort.

Elms returns to action Thursday, Sept. 29 when it hosts Anna Maria College in a non-conference tilt beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
