Colby-Sawyer College Downs Field Hockey, 2-0

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Elms College junior goalkeeper Alexandra Bonavita (Agawam, Mass.) made 14 saves but suffered a 2-0 loss to Colby-Sawyer College in Saturday afternoon's non-conference field hockey game in New London, N.H.

With the loss, Elms falls to 1-3 on the season, while Colby-Sawyer improves to 2-2 overall.

The Chargers struck early when Katharine Kessler (Newport, N.H.) scored what proved to be the game winning goal 17 minutes into the game.

Colby-Sawyer held its 1-0 lead early into the second period before increasing that lead when Alexa Comesanas (Germantown, N.Y.) tallied her first collegiate goal on a pass in front from Nykki Stritzinger (Bel Air, Md.).

Chargers' goalie Colleen O'Hurley (Weare, N.H.) made six saves in the victory, while Bonavita suffered the loss between the pipes for Elms.

Elms returns to non-conference play on Thursday, Sept. 22 when it hosts Westfield State University at 7:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
