Elms Women's Basketball Drops Non-Conference Tilt at Bridgewater State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Blazer freshman Angelica Peguero-Flo scored a career-high 13 points and Niah Pantry had her sixth consecutive double-digit rebounding performance, but the Elms College women's basketball team fell 74-28 in non-conference action at Bridgewater State on Monday.

Pantry, who was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday, grabbed 15 rebounds for the Blazers, who fell to 6-11 with the loss. Seven of her rebounds came on the offensive end. Peguero-Flo went 6-of-14 from the field, but she was the only Blazer to hit more than one shot from the field, as Elms combined to shoot 20 percent (11-of-55) from the floor.

All 15 players who entered the game for the Bears scored at least two points, led by a team-high 11 from Chanelle Melton. Sara DaSilva and Rhiana Page each finished with 10. Bridgewater State shot 46.4 percent (32-of-69) from the field and matched the Blazers' 42 rebounds in the game.

Elms returns home for four of its next five games, beginning with an NECC tilt against Newbury College on Feb. 3.
